Benzoin is not a liquid, but more of a resin in its natural state. Only when it’s cut with other agents does it act as an oil. The benzoin resinoid in the Apothecary Shoppe is 100% pure and has a "sticky" or more solid consistency. Depending on how you want to use it, there are a few methods for breaking it down to a liquid.

If you want to diffuse the oil, or liquify it, you can use a double boiler method. Put the bottle into a container, then put the container over boiling water. The heat from this method will break it down and liquify it, but only for a short time. If you are using it in perfumery, alcohol will liquify it. If you mix the resin with alcohol, it will stay liquified.
