At ACHS, Capstone students may serve as student investigators for their own research projects and are responsible for submitting their proposed study to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for approval. However, a faculty mentor must be listed on the protocol submission as the Principal Investigator (PI). Student investigators are responsible for observation of applicable laws, regulations, and ACHS guidelines. All student investigators are required to complete human subjects protection training.
